My Pet Loss StoryWelcome to An Angel's Destiny, where we truly believe our beloved animal friends are a gift from above!  Scooter This website is a creation built after the loss of our Sheltie, Scooter. We had lost other pets before and had experienced the mourning and grieving that inevitably follows losing someone so close to you. With Scooter's death however, I had an unusually hard grasp on finding closure. His death, while unexpected and tragic, did not give me time to find the peace with his passing or to process in my mind that he was going to a better place.
"It's just a damn dog, why is she making such a big deal out of it?" "Good thing she hasn't lost someone "really" close to her like her sister or mother!" "Oh, I'm so sorry..why don't you just go get another dog?"
Our website is devoted to letting grieving pet owners know they are not alone through our pet sympathy gifts and pet memorial items. Scooter was my little dog angel! My time with him was entirely too short, but I cherish each and every day I was given with him. Just having the privilege to have him in my life is something I will be grateful for the rest of my days. No matter what his means to leave this earth, I know it was his destiny to go back. When we lose our babies we all deal with it in our own way. By me having Scootie's picture EVERYWHERE was my healing process and still is to this day. It keeps him close to me and helps keep the good memories alive and strong. I know I will see him again, of that I am sure. Sometimes, however, we just need items to help us feel connected and help bond us with our animal companions until the day we meet them again. We know the road to healing isn't to avoid the memories, it's to embrace them and find peace with them.
These are just a few comments that my fellow animal lovers and I have heard. Obviously when you lose a pet and you hear comments like this, it hurts immeasurably. Society, even today, doesn't seem to fully grasp the fulfillment of the relationships with our animal companions and how it encompasses every aspect of our lives. Because of this, pet owners tend to mourn very privately because they assume no one will understand the extent of their grieving.
Or maybe you know a little girl who just needs to keep her "cat angel" around her neck because she's not ready to say goodbye just yet. For those out there like me, you may just need pictures in every room of the house. We all hurt and we all feel the same aching pain just in different ways. We hope through our products, to help you get through this grieving period and to the place of peaceful memories that is always accompanied by the confident, enduring smile that says "I will see my loved one again!"
